The facade of the postal and telegraph building occupies a large section of the main square of Nitra, along with the theatre and town hall. Its exposed symmetrical design is characterised by a marked tri-axial framing. Originally, it was entirely fronted with glass, representing the central aesthetic motif of an otherwise highly pragmatic structure. The building has three floors, and consists of four wings creating a compact urban block. The flat roof, strictly rational floor plan and especially the use of generous areas of glass anticipate the coming of Functionalist architecture to Nitra.
